Ouuu, they’re sharp, those fashion folk, aren’t they? So on the ball it’s frightening. There’s one fabulous behind-the-scenes designer lady who, on meeting the Queen, had, after some careful thought, just one thing to say: “I think she might be the poshest person I’ve ever met.” Erm, you don’t say, love.

Haha nudge nudge wink wink . I ain’t going to kiss and tell though …..

I have come to London without a brolly .Duh! So I may treat myself to a JAmes Smith and Sons visit .

So happy its still there .I was dreading it may have been turned into a Tesco Metro .

Blimey ol’ rileygovernor we have returned !

A label ran by a friend of hers called Fuud . And I had a big love for these .

Wearing the trackies with a nice cashmere roll neck could work for me  .

(***But realistically I am not sure I am able to put the laura ashley dress at the back of the closet just yet….)

So my gorgeous Hip hop sister arrived at the weekend .

Yeah-the younger sis has taught me a bit or two about fashion . I must look soooo boring/middle aged/past it  to her .

She told me about these labels that only the young would know about and I became more envious of her youth by the minute .

Her life ( as a trainee doctor ) revolves around leggings ,faux gold ,unitards,old school trainers and shell suit tops.

Moi is très jel .

She loves this label called Puckoo ( above)who custom make leggins for about £55.00 . Bit of a bargin if you ask me .

I have found my old leather biker  jacket resonantly in  the bottom of a slightly dusty box -We were both very happy to see each other again after all these years . I have no idea where and when I got it  . But its a perfect fit ,arms slightly bent,good chunky angry looking zips

I have also adopted a pair of dungarees . Which (apparently )have an anti ageing effect on me . They are a bit comedy too as they seem to twist a little  . (However it does open up the debate for appropriate clothing for over 35 year olds . But hey)

Then the dress I swapped a few weeks ago ,for my reading glasses ,has become a favourite too in that Little House on the Prarie kind of way .Channeling 1970’s mom .

So glad our cards made it in time onto Zoe irvins’ ‘Bird Girl.’

P.S can I have my dungees back now …

I have been asked ,as well as other designers such as James Jarvis, Donna Wilson ,Marcus Oakley ,Sara Jowett, to name a few ,to be involved and exhibit called The Mantlepiece .

“The Mantlepiece” looks at collections of objects, where the audience can glimpse into the private world of design ,designers and objects that inspire them.

For me ,I shall be transplanting my lounge mantlepiece into the exhibition .

Exhibition opens on 7th November .Private view at 6:30pm

Well , a few weeks ago the lovely Mr Miles and me when on an expedition .

It was a great way to de-stress from the world of frocks and after a good giggle and a hearty lunch we both agreed we Must do this Much more often!

(A big rock ,a great friend and open skies does wonders for the soul .)

I am trading in my ‘mom’ car for something a little more fun & enjoyable ,old, and high maintence( like me?)

I met a lovely retired couple yesterday who after giving me 600 biscuits and endlesss cups of tea showed me their prized possesion .I gave it a little drive and with the roof off it was brilliant if not a little shakey . So I went home and looked at the extra photos I took and put the kids to bed ,ate dinner ,chatted to friends about it and then basically forgot to bid and with 5 mins to go -nothing happend and I lost out .

So maybe it wasnt meant to be
